Our Story

We Didn't Start a Supplement Company. We Built the One We Needed.

Mood Mod was created by three friends, Hunter March, David Alvarez, and Jay Boice, who were tired of running on stress and caffeine and couldn't find a natural saffron mood supplement they actually trusted. So they built it.

Built by People Who Hit the Same Wall

Between the three of us, we have spent over a decade in some of the most high-pressure corners of media, entertainment, and business.

We have been in front of the camera and behind it. In the meetings, on the calls, answering DMs at midnight, and running on fumes pretending that is just the cost of doing business. At some point, we all hit the same wall.

The stress was not going away. The anxiety kept compounding. We were glued to our phones, chasing dopamine hits, and always "on." And it felt like every year, life was only getting more intense. Not just for us. For everyone.

So We Asked a Simple Question

What if we actually built something we wanted to use? Not something we would slap our name on for a check. Something we would take every single day. Something we could stand behind with zero hesitation and share with the people who trust us.

That led to months of research. Formulation. Testing. Dead ends. More testing. And eventually, the formula that became Mood Mod.

Why We Went All Natural

Early on, we ruled out the options that did not sit right with us. We had tried them, and none of them were what we actually wanted to put in our bodies every day.

  • We didn't want ashwagandha. It can feel sedating, and the side effects some of us experienced were exactly what we were trying to avoid in a daytime routine.
  • We didn't want to swallow pills. Another capsule to remember and choke down was not a habit any of us would actually keep.
  • We didn't want a synthetic prescription. We were looking for support, not a medication, and we wanted something we could feel good about taking long term.
  • We wanted something all natural. Ingredients with a real history behind them, not a lab-made shortcut.

That last point mattered most. We kept coming back to plants and nutrients that people have leaned on for calm and balance for a very long time, ingredients with both a long tradition of use and modern clinical research behind them. Saffron checked every box.

The Key? Saffron.

Most people already know how effective magnesium glycinate and L-theanine are for calming the mind and body. That is exactly why we included them. But saffron is the ingredient nobody is talking about, and it should be the loudest name in the conversation.

Saffron has been used for centuries as a natural remedy for low mood and stress, long before there was a clinical name for what it was doing. Today, the patented Affron® extract is one of the most well-studied natural ingredients for supporting a healthy stress response, and it is wildly underutilized. That is not just our opinion. The clinical research speaks for itself.

An ingredient trusted for generations, now backed by modern human trials, and non-sedating enough to take in the middle of a workday. That was exactly what we had been looking for. We knew if we were going to break the cycle of burnout, overstimulation, and chronic stress, saffron had to be at the center.

Built by people who needed it first. Backed by research. Powered by an audience ready for something real.
